So Much More to Discover about Equine Genetics with Christa Lafayette and Etalon!

We all want what is best for the horse as owners, trainers, and breeders, but did you know that you can learn more about about how to help horses be able to do their job better and be happier through taking it a step further by looking into their DNA and genetic makeup?

There is so much information to be gained through equine genetics for not only the physical and mental wellbeing of the horse, but also for the sustainability and growth of the equine industry!

Equine genetics is probably a topic I nerd out about the most when it comes to horses and I

think this week's guests would say the same. Christa Lafayette and her team at Etalon have such a passion and true vision for what this can do for the industry and revolutionize how we look at breeding across all disciplines and breeds.

Being able to see the genetical potential of a future breeding or foal can really help owners and breeders see not only their potential to succeed at a certain discipline, but also show what else the horse could have the potential for greatness in. Taking a deeper look into the genetics of

our horses and reading between the lines to understand more about how their genes affect our ability to work better with them, train them in a smarter way, help them to be happier and healthier for the job they were born to do as well as to ensure that horses continue to stay around for years to come for future generations.

We discuss this and so many other great topics in the episode and it was such a fascinating and educational conversation with Christa as well as the insights from two members of the Etalon team, Holly and Laura. In order for us truly do the best for our horses, it is important to have all the information available to us and to be proactive in the care and management of them. Our horses give us their all in training and competition every day so they deserve for us to do all we can for them on our end and I'm not just talking about our fitness routines.
