Veterinarians and Equine Sports Medicine Specialists have made some amazing strides over the last several years to improve how we care and provide preventative practices to our equine athletic partners. They have worked really hard to make sure that every horse receives the treatment that best fits that horse because as you will hear in this week's episode, every horse is different and requires different needs.
It is important to remember the value in physical therapy for horses is just as important as it is for human athletes. From injury recovery, surgery prehab, and more it all plays a big part in helping high performance equine athletes be able to handle the stress of competition better and recover faster to get back to what they love to do.
On today's episode, I talk with Dr Sherry Johnson DVM one of the partners with Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation about these topics and more incredible insights into how this field has evolved in the industry from college programs, how important it is to have basic horsemanship skills in the field as well as the medical side, and so much more.

As well as a team that understands that every person has their own strengths and in order to better serve the clients, you have to collaborate to always put the horse first.
